Hello,
Thank you for visiting my (now retired) portfolio page.
For the majority of my life, I have dedicated myself not only to learning media and design, but to learning and advocating for human rights across the world.
It has come to my attention that WIX is an Israeli company that associates itself with the illegal occupation in the Middle East. Because of this, I have chosen to stand in solidarity with Palestinians and find a new service to host and showcase my work.
My new portfolio may be found at https://www.mrtnzmedia.com/
More importantly, you can learn about BDS and boycotting WIX at

BIO
My name is Amanda Martinez. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Early on in life I experimented with music and graphic design and eventually I worked my way to photography and videography.

I currently study at the Claremont Colleges, a small liberal arts consortium outside of Los Angeles. I'm pursuing a major in Media Studies with a concentration in Video, but I also make time to study music and foreign languages.
Since starting college I have done lots of awesome media-related things. I learned how to sample cat meows in Ableton. I worked for a small children's theater as an audio technician. I upgraded my film equipment and created a few short documentaries. Just this past summer, I interned at a museum and produced educational media on LA's homelessness crisis. And the whole time I have been working on this portfolio, freelancing as videographer, photographer, and and digital artist.

Social activism and public service is a huge part of my life. After college I hope to keep creating things that help undeserved communities and advocate for human rights. I'm especially passionate about education reform, environmentalism, and immigrants/civil rights.
On Saturdays, you can find me on the rugby pitch, playing the greatest sport on earth.
